We are thrilled that you have decided to join one of our awe-inspiring birding tours to Colombia. Please take into consideration the following Terms and Conditions before signing up for your tour:

Registration and Payment
1) To secure your place on the tour, please complete the registration form and pay the $800 registration fee
2) Registration fee and balance can be paid via credit card or direct bank deposit through our secure online system
3) Balance is due in two equal installments – Reminder to be sent at least a week in advance

Cancellation and refund
If you need to cancel your tour before the balance is due, a $250 admin fee applies.
If you need to cancel after paying the balance, the tour price minus the deposit will be refunded.
If you need to cancel within 30 days from departure, no refund is due but you can apply funds minus deposit to a future birding tour with Icaro Birding.
If you need to cancel while on tour, no refund is due nor a portion can be applied for a future tour.

Medical Information
Participation in an Icaro Birding Tour requires that you are in generally good health, are able to complete walks of 2-4 hours duration, and are able to meet the tour’s schedule. Persons with medical problems or dietary restrictions must make them known to us well in advance of the tour. Icaro Birding has the authority to disqualify any participant, without refund or further obligation, if they do not follow the recommendations of the tour guide or if the tour guide feels that the individual’s continued participation will jeopardize the well-being or enjoyment of the individual or group.

You have the responsibility to get immunizations to protect you from diseases or illnesses that may exist in the places you will be visiting on tour. Icaro Birding has given general guidelines or diseases that might be present, but we urge you to consult your doctor and or Travel Immunization Clinic before you go.

COVID-19 Waiver: I acknowledge the contagious nature of COVID-19 and voluntarily assume the risk that I may be exposed to or infected by COVID-19 while traveling. Such exposure or infection may result in personal injury, illness, permanent disability, and possible death. I voluntarily agree to assume all of the foregoing risks and accept sole responsibility for any injury to myself (including, but not limited to, personal injury, disability, and death), illness, damage, loss, claim, liability, or expense, of any kind, that I may experience or incur in connection with Icaro Birding

I accept ultimate responsibility for myself and my traveling party to have all the necessary provisions for travel (such as COVID test results, pre-travel questionnaires, etc.) Moreover, I understand that I should assume responsibility for the necessary documents (such as COVID test results, pre-travel questionnaires, etc.) considering COVID-19, in order to travel to my specific destination.

I acknowledge having read Icaro Birding Biosafety Protocols in connection to COVID-19 and will adhere to the guidelines set by the tour leader and the local authorities in order to minimize the risk of contracting and spreading the virus.

Image Usage
During our tours, we may take photos or videos for promotional purposes. If you do not want us to use photos or videos that include you, please let us know in advance.

Risks inherent to adventure travel and Our Responsibility to You
Your booking is accepted on the understanding that you appreciate the possible risks inherent in adventure travel and that undertaking our tours is your own decision. Icaro Birding and the tour operators it works with, place ultimate importance on the safety of its clients. It is important, however, that you realize that you are responsible for making yourself aware of the risks involved, and are responsible for making your decisions accordingly.
1. Icaro Birding shall not be liable for any delays, deviations, or omissions from any tour caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, nor for any direct or indirect consequences thereto.
2. Icaro Birding shall not be liable to compensate you for associated expenses incurred as a result of your booking.
3. Icaro Birding only acts as agent for the owners, contractors, suppliers of transportation and local operators/agents, and/or other related travel services provided and assumes no liability or responsibility for additional expenses howsoever caused arising directly or indirectly from the actions, or omissions of such independent parties, accidents, loss or damage to person or property, delays, transport failures, strikes, war, force majeure, Acts of God, etc., over which it has no control.
4. Arrangements made by Icaro Birding will be subject to any special terms imposed by the supplier of these services.
5. Icaro Birding accepts no liability for any action or activity undertaken by you arranged independently of Icaro Birding while on tour.
6. You are solely responsible for ensuring that you possess all the required travel documentation for your tour (passports, visas, etc.)

Submission of all claims to arbitration: In return for Icaro Birding agreeing to take you on this tour, by completing the registration form you agree that in advance of your tour, you personally and on behalf of your heirs, beneficiaries, and assigns will participate with Icaro Birding in an arbitration process legally acknowledged under Colombian law to resolve all claims for loss, damage, expense, injury or injury causing death to you that occurs while you are on tour with Icaro birding

We strongly recommend that you purchase trip cancellation insurance to cover your investment in case of injury, illness, or some other unexpected event that forces you to cancel. In addition, we strongly recommend that you obtain emergency medical insurance that covers expenses resulting from accidental injury or illness during the tour.

We do include basic travel insurance with your tour that covers the expenses related in the table below up to the amounts there specified.
