Miguel Lopez
Hello! My name is Miguel Lopez. I started about 10 years ago with photography but soon became more interested in birding. I wanted to get to know them, learn their names, and understand their habits. After I began guiding, I realized I loved sharing my knowledge and passion for birding, and seeing people smile after the experience became my main goal.
My favorite place for birding is Río Blanco in the Coffee Area of Colombia. It’s not only a top hotspot with 3 Antpitta feeding stations and well-kept trails, but also because of the people who live and work there. There are many favorite bird species, but the Masked Saltator holds a special place in my heart. It’s the one species clients always asks for, and showing it to them has consistently brought me satisfaction. As I became truly skilled at finding it, it’s fascinating to know how much people are impressed by this skill.
Fun fact: I’m a visual designer with a focus on web design. I’m passionate about local guiding and have had the privilege of guiding people from all over the world and various cultures.
